    68RFE Trans Lurching/Slipping?

    I've got a 21 CC Tradesman with the 68RFE.

I've noticed some light slipping or lurching in 5th and 6th gear under light throttle or if the cruise is set.

It only does it for the first mile or so.

DIt doesn'tmatter if the truck is warm or not.

    Any ideas? Torque converter?

    Any info is appreciated.

    Thanks!

Have you checked the fluid level in the transmission?

    Sorry, I'm just seeing this.

    I have checked it.

If anything, it's a little over full.

Not sure if that would cause anything, though.

I don't claim to be a mechanic LOL.

It will skip in 4th gear as well.

Done it this morning on the 4th, 5th, and 6th.

It only does it if you're barely in the throttle. 25%-100% throttle, it acts normal.

Have you hooked a scanner up to it for any codes?

I took it to the dealer for the grid heater relay recall.

I mentioned it to them, and the guy said it wasn't showing any codes.

They wanted me to bring it to leave overnight for them to have it before it's been warmed up, but they wanted to schedule it way out.

I just wondered if anyone else has had the issue.

It doesn't bother me, but I know just as soon as the warranty goes out, then something will work for sure mess up, LOL.

If it seems like it’s slipping then I would definitely get them to resolve the issue before your warranty runs out.

    Agree with @watersupply189.

Let them check it out and document your concern before your warranty runs out.

Do yourself a favor and take it to a good tranny shop; put a good converter in it and the Sonex overdrive drum and Revmax valve body.

Putting another stock of junk 68 in is a waste of time in my eyes.
