I have 2017 3500 Cab and Chassis.

I've been dealing with a battery drain for a few years now.

At first, I thought it was the batteries because they had a 2013 manufacturer date.

I replaced them at the beginning of 2021, and the problem went away; winter returned, and I put a maintainer on to keep charged.

I started chasing down the cause.

First, I took both negative cables off, got my old bulb-type test light, put it between the cable and negative post, and lit up.

So started with basics, unhooked plow cable, still has draw, took the hot lead off the back of alt, still lights up, unplugged anything extra, got to TIPM box and pulled every fuse and relay testing for a draw after everyone, still lights up.

I took the power cable off TIPM, and the light went away.

So I'm assuming the circuit board has a short because if it were the fuel pump relay, the test light would have gone out when I pulled that fuse.

New boards are on backorder.
