    Upgrade Of Brakes From OEM?

Just a little background on me and my rig.

I have 2014 with the 6.7 Cummins 4x4 deleted, and it is my daily driver, but I also use it to haul firewood for a side business and cattle and stuff.

I have noticed I need to redo my brakes, but with me hauling a lot pretty regularly and being a daily driver, I was unsure if I needed to replace the brakes with something heavier than the OEM or if OEM would still work.

    TIA.

How many miles do you have on these brakes?

If you got good wear out of them, I would go back with OEMs.

Our only upgrades for brakes are just our oem brakes painted red with slotted drilled rotors and upgraded pads from power stop.

It’s not like you will find Brembo or Wilwood kits with 4 or 6 piston setups; if you do, let me know; I haven’t been able to.

Willwood makes a 6-piston front brake set up for 2014 trucks and up.

    SSBC makes one as well.

SSBC 8 piston kit uses stock rotor size, unlike Willwood, which fits 2009-2018 trucks.

I have not tried the power stop stuff on our trucks, but I have had good luck with their products on other vehicles.

My old lady is hard on brakes.

She likes to wait until the last second and then slam on the brakes to stop or make a turn.

I cannot break her of this habit.

    It's been 12 years.

The first car she had when we got together was a Ford Taurus.

I **** you not she couldn't make it two oil changes without warping the front rotors.

I finally got her some pads and rotors from power stop and threw them on there.

She never warped another set of rotors.

Since then, she has had 2 Toyota Camrys.

The first time either car needed brakes, I went straight to the Power Stop.

    Problem solved.

I just put on EBC rotors and yellow pads.

I wouldn’t do the yellow pads again.

Does it stop better for sure but a little squeaky before they heat up?

    Yes, it does.

Not many options with any quality.
