    Exhaust Pipe Questions

    2018 exhaust.

Is there any point in doing a turbo back exhaust?

I believe there’s a CAT on the downpipe after the turbo, DPF, SCR, and muffler.

Do most just use a race pipe between the downpipe and muffler or replace it from the end of the downpipe to the tip?

I just want 4” as economical as possible and not a crazy loud exhaust.

I’m trying to avoid spending crazy money on a full SS exhaust and avoid drone when towing.

    Thanks.

There is a flex joint on the downpipe but no CAT.

The most economical solution is to install a muffler or resonator after the downpipe and reuse the existing pipe after the SCR.

So factory downpipe, then muffler, then race pipe, then factory tailpipe?

    That seems pretty economical.

    Thanks for your help!

Your race pipe should have the downpipe flange so you will have a shot run of the race pipe and then the muffler.

The muffler will get rid of most of the drone.

I still have a little at 1,900 rpm, but not bad.

If you go with the resonator, you want it as close to the downpipe as possible to eliminate just about all the drone.

Does anybody know the options for a regular cab race pipe?

FLO~PRO says theirs won’t fit a regular cab.

I made my own on my ‘08, but I’m going thru a divorce right now, and all my tools are pretty much on lockdown by the soon-to-be ex-wife.

Sorry, you are going through a divorce; been there also.

Things will get better once everything is settled and you get it behind you.

Don’t rush to get remarried; take your time!

On a brighter note, I found these race pipes, one with a muffler and one without; they say it will fit all cab sizes, but thinking some cutting may be required.
