Considering the random nature of this whole incident, I am really hoping there's just some water in there or maybe something came loose because it was very heavily raining and windy that day that I was out when this all started.

due to the sensor being mounted externally, it supposed to take some weathering and grime
I would follow what Bob has researched for you
Like mentioned, verify all are reading the same and change out the deviated one, as this would be the bad one

To confirm I have an understanding of this task before I start doing it, I want to check each wire of the sensor with the + probe of the multimeter and the ground/chassis with the negative and compare the readings?

Yes, let see what readings you get back probing each sensor wire on volts DC. You will need the key in the run position and wheels stationary.

I read the term "Key On" often but I have a push start, can you clarify what the correct "lit position" that Key On is for me? Is this ACC or RUN(with no ignition)?
Yes, sir, all you need is the truck's power without running.
I have an older Cummins, and I'm still used to the key theory.

No problem at all!
I just wanted to make sure, as that's how I reset my DTCs with the tuner, and I figured it better to ask and be safe.
