    Lost Faith In The Shop!

Guys, I put my 2007 in the shop to have 100HP injectors installed.

I was in no hurry because I have a company truck I drive daily.

The truck went into the shop with a bad injector, to begin with.

So once they started on my truck, they let me know the cores were ready so I could send them back to industrial.

Two days later, I called about my truck and was told it wouldn’t start; it didn’t have any rail pressure.

Fast forward, I get busy at work and travel, so two weeks buy and I’m told the same thing still. It sounds like I’ll be going to get my truck with a trailer but trying to see where is an excellent place to start.

So I drove my truck to the shop also with a bad injector.

It wasn’t but about 8-10 miles, but either way, it was running when I dropped it off.

    Thanks for the help, everyone.

Hard to say what they may have done to cause this issue.

I would start by scanning for trouble codes and then doing a quick volume test on the low-pressure side at the CP3 pump.

This will give you an idea of where to start and let you know the lift pump and filters supply enough fuel to the high-pressure pump.

They may not have torqued the injector crossover tubes correctly; a fuel return flow test would likely be next on my list.

We assume the new or rebuilt injectors were good, not leaking or cracked.

I would also check your oil and smell for fuel, just in case.

Plugging off one injector at a time to see if the high pressure comes back is another test you could do.

They were remanned from Industrial Injection with paperwork.

I would think they are good but at this point, who knows?

Driving home and thought about this thread.

I want to know what you find out.

II does pressure tests on all injectors before shipment.

If anything were out of spec, disassembly would happen with new parts and reassembly and back to pressure checking.

Call and ask for Skyler in the truck department.

Tell him your buds with Corkey.

He may get more in-depth as well speed whatever process up for you.

I would have them recheck the torque procedure when installing the injectors and cross tubes.

If it doesn't sit properly, I believe most of the fuel goes into the return.

I believe they need to be 44in-lbs on the tubes.

You should be able to smell diesel if it's leaking at a reasonable amount.

You should also hesitate on initial startup if you leak one or more tubes.

    Edit- https://www.tcdiesel.com/dodge-injector-install.html

I came across this for you.

I would read through the whole article to get familiar with the process.

Even if you take it back, you'll better understand how to tell them what they could have missed.

Correction, final torque on crossover tubes 44 Ft-Lb.
