Re: Lost Faith In The Shop!

Sorry, this took so long, but I had some injectors that were out of spec according to Industrial Injection.

So got all that squared away after a lot of time out of town.

I picked my truck up this past Thursday, and everything was running well; the car sounded great.

I uploaded the new revision of the DRD tuning and hit the road.

Going down the interstate, I took it easy, doing 68-70mph.

Then I decided to try rolling into it, and my petal was dead.

I can’t get any more power past 70mph.

I have nothing happening but no codes, either.

So I get it to where I work and park it scratching my head now.

    Does anyone have ideas here?

Could the Throttle position sensor be going out, or is there a way to check it

Symptoms of a Faulty Throttle Position Sensor

    • An unexplainable bucking and jerking in the vehicle.
    • Sudden idle surges.
    • Sudden engine stalling without any apparent reason.
    • Hesitation while accelerating.
    • Sudden surges in speed while driving on the highway.
    • Intermittently flashing of check engine light for no apparent reason.

Was there a charger hooked up at the time of uploading the revision?

If the throttle position sensor is going bad, you should see pending or stored trouble codes.

You may need a higher-end scan tool to see them.

You could try returning to stock and re-flash your tuning if no codes are found.

Make sure the batteries are fully charged, and it’s a good idea to have a battery tender hooked up while you program.

Low voltage during this process will result in incomplete programming and corrupt files that can cause some odd symptoms.

Well, I guess I’m blind, LOL.

I got under the hood and found the intake boost hose barely hanging on.

So I ensured the boot was on the intake and tightened the clamp.

I took it for a test drive, and now I have a completely different animal.

Those 100hp injectors make that turbo spool now.

Sounds good; glad you found the issue.

If you have the 68RFE, don’t forget to allow for relearning after the tuning revision.
