Thread: S&B Intake?

    S&B Intake?

I just dropped money on the S&B intake for my 2016.

I saw a few other posts on here about S&B but not so much the sound difference with the turbo and exhaust, which mine is a 5-inch strait pipe.

If anyone can give me an idea of the sound difference I will get versus a stock, that would be awesome as I am hoping to make the turbo a little louder and exhaust, but I am not holding my breath.

Also, you all can tell me performance gains, mpg, etc.

I have a G56, so I am sure the exhaust brake may sound different and roll through the gears.

    Thanks.

Almost no sound difference unless you take out the side piece in the intake box, then you get a little more whistle.

The only thing you’ll notice more is the exhaust brake.

    Potentially get about 0.5-1.25mpg better.

You might get 5-20hp better, a little more if you're tuned.

Overall it's just a better intake and better throttle response.

S&B makes a good product, but don’t expect an “omg” feeling after the intake.

I'd say the potential of 5-20hp, and potentially .5-1.25 mpg is not a bad compromise.

If that is the case, I wouldn't mind adding it; every little bit helps the truck's overall running.

I added an AFE dry panel filter to my stock airbox for ease of cleaning cycles, but I only put about 5-7k miles a year on it; there is no difference in fuel mileage, throttle response, etc., for a stock replacement.
