    Brakes Options?

Hey guys, so my question is, who has modified or had an aha moment and got the brakes to work better on these trucks?

My current is a 2017 RAM 2500, and my last was a 2014 RAM 2500

Since they are new, both trucks have much to be desired from the brakes.

I have driven other RAMS and thought the same.

My truck currently has a power stop drilled and slotted setup on it.

However, putting it on is only slightly better than the factory.

    Not a huge difference.

It's funny when I go from my 2017 that barely stops to my 1977 W200, and the brakes will about put you through the windshield.

I get that the new trucks have ABS and all that is on them, but they should work far better than they do.

I have a 2016 3500 with a G56 and never had an issue with my brakes.

When I have to stop on a dime, they are solid.

I always use the exhaust brake and hardly ever have to touch my brakes.

I just turned 100k, and the factory pads are still over half.

The only time I wish I had better brakes is when pulling my fifth wheel, and some idiot pulls out in front of me and then decides to slam on their brakes.

No complaints about the truck brakes when not towing.

I should probably upgrade my trailer brakes to hydraulic.

I, too, have a G56 with an exhaust brake.

But the simple fact is they are not great.

This is the 5th 2500 RAM I’ve owned since I started driving.

I've owned or own not all the RAMS/Dodges combined right now.

This body style is the worst hands down.

It will pull the world, just not stop it as efficiently as I would like to see.

Thanks for letting me know yours works well.

Honestly, ceramic pads from Amazon or such have alot more bite, way less dust, and don't get fancy with the rotors.

Been doing it for a few hundred thousand miles now; always been excellent.

    I never had any issues.

My rig has electric over hydraulic discs, which are the &$$%.

So good, my first trip out with brand new trailer tires, I flat-spotted all four tires in a panic stop.

This truck has no issue stopping loaded or unloaded, but I use EB 100% of the time.

I also tend to use tow-haul around town for the more aggressive EB / braking/ downshifts.
