    Glad it wasn't something major.

It's never ideal to have to fix a truck before a trip but better to find it at home vs. out on the road somewhere.

This little spot is what was chewed, and then the second pic is the breather that broke when the tank slipped as I was pulling the hose off—still trying to think of a way to fix the breather without getting a new one tank—1600$ at the dealer.

    Yikes.

Still waiting to hear from the dealer; the part should be here today.

I haven't been able to find my fuel line disconnect tool, so I need to pick one of those up.

It should be up and running tomorrow.

It's a pain, but glad it was an easy fix.

I believe that vent should pop into a rubber grommet in the tank.

It looks alot like the early jeep tank vents.

Maybe worth a shot to see if it comes out.

To repair the breather on top of the tank, I would recommend finding some Polyethylene tubing that will fit inside both broken ends to reinforce the joint, then apply Polyethylene glue or epoxy to all parts.

Test the glue or epoxy for proper bonding somewhere at the top of the breather fitting.

If not removable, possibly get a piece of tubing or brake line that fits the I'd of the hole and epoxy the nipple back on.

That's what i was thinking of finding a small piece of brass, slipping both parts, and epoxying it.

As far as it coming out of the tank, it appears to be molded into the tank.

I need to double-check, but I believe it just vents to the filler neck.

    Appreciate the pics.

The vent should be an easy fix with the suggestions others have given.

Re: Fuel Leak From No Where!

I got a brass compression-fitting sleeve and cut the lip off of it.

I had to slightly drill out the tank and the broken nipple.

It was a super tight fit, which I wanted should work tremendous, and ID was almost identical if not a hair bigger.

I got the new fuel line in and everything back together; putting the tank in almost complete was alot more complex than dropping it.

Before I drive through, I will wait a while for the epoxy to cure. But it should be fixed entirely.
