Thread: Not Accepting Fuel!

    Not Accepting Fuel!

Alright, guys, I have a '14 6.7L that will not accept fuel into the tank.

I thought the vent lines were plugged after reading up on some forums, in which blowing the air into the vent line brought fuel back up the fill neck.

I pulled the bed, removed the fill tube from the tank, and opened the flap with no pressure in the tank.

Moving on to the hardline that is welded onto the side of the neck towards the top and moves into a soft line attached to a plastic 90 on the tank, when I blow fuel into that, it immediately spits fuel back.

So, I'm stumped. Do gauge clusters play a role in anything?

The cluster did go out and hasn't been replaced yet?

So could that be an issue?

    Open to suggestions.

    Thanks in advance - Jordan

    Forgive me if I'm wrong.

    Is it accepting fuel?

Or is the lift pump not providing fuel to the CP3?

The float in the tank could be hung up, which is why its showing empty.

    Re: Not Accepting Fuel!!

Not accepting fuel, meaning I can hold down both flaps in the fill neck, pour fuel in, and it comes right back up.

No fuel will go into the tank at all.

Welcome, Jordan, and glad to have you here.

It sounds like you may have a bent/blocked fill line, causing the tank not to accept the fuel.

    Re: Not Accepting Fuel!

I have pulled the bed off to inspect the fill neck, which seems to be perfectly fine.

I’m curious as to why when I blow air in the vent line that goes to the rollover mechanism, I can hear the air going in the tank, and then it spits it back out the 90* vent that’s welded to the top of the neck.

    Thanks!

That was one of the original posts that I had tried following.

No luck with what they had done, but I will keep trying!

    Thanks-Jordan

I am looking for a good diagram of how the vent line is routed to and through the rollover valve.

All I have found is this. https://kristenalvarezchristi.blogsp...ent-valve.html

My thoughts are that when you blow air into the rollover vent line, you overcome the spring tension and pressurize the tank, which is why air comes out of the 90* vent.

Just my thoughts; if I find a better diagram, I will post it and possibly think again.

    Re: Not Accepting Fuel!

    Thank you!

    They are much appreciated.

I’ve been working out of town so I don’t have time to get back to it until the weekend.

I’m going to try pouring fuel directly into the tank bypassing the fuel neck, and see what comes of it.

    Thanks, Jordan.

    Re: Not Accepting Fuel!

Now to add this in, I did blow air directly into the 90* to see if something would change, and it spits fuel directly back at me.
