Titan 50 Gallon Tank - 2018 3500 Mega Cab Issue.

As the title states, I have an issue with a newly installed fuel tank.

It is a Titan tank, and I can't pump fuel into it.

The gas station pumps keep shutting off.

The shop has gone through all the lines and vents and even sent pictures of the setup to Titan.

Everything seems in order, and there are no clogs.

When I go to the gas station and attempt to pump fuel, I can run the pump on bare minimum flow for about 10 to 15 seconds before it kicks off.

If I immediately retry, it spits fuel out, and I have to wait a few seconds before I can attempt to pump again.

It took like 20 minutes at the pump to fill this thing up. This was at the standard car pumps and not the big truck pumps.

Has anybody experienced this with their aftermarket tank?

    Any help is greatly appreciated.

On a side note, Hammer Performance in Sunland Park (El Paso) is doing a great job taking care of me.

They stand by their work and haven't left me out of the loop on anything.

Very strange; I hope they can figure out what is happening and fix it.

When I read this, it reminded me in the stock fill neck, just below the flap at the top, there is a ball valve that seals off when there is nothing to hold it open.

This allows the tank not to have a cap.

When I put in fuel additives, I have to stick a long screwdriver in the fill neck, so it opens the ball valve; otherwise, it fills up and overflows—just something to check if it hasn't been already.

I don’t know if I ever updated this.

    We fixed the problem.

You have to remove the connections that come installed on the tank and remove dust caps that come from the factory.

Maybe it was an oversight by Titan, or the manufacturer of the part started putting them in the fittings and didn’t tell Titan.

Or, it’s always been that way, and the installer left it out.

Either way, customer service from Titan and the installer was top-notch, and I’d still do business with them all day.

They worked tirelessly to fix the problem within a week of my last post on the topic.
