So I finally got around to installing these two parts today, and I wish I would've done a how-to for everyone.
Anyway, I went in not expecting a lot, just wanting to get the OEM grid heater death bolt out even though I thought about just disconnecting the oem heater in place and rerouting the power cable to the new heater.
All I can say is I am so glad I decided to go all out with the delete plate and heater.
The intake horn was full of soot way worse than the grid heater.
Honestly, I felt most of my time was spent cleaning the intake horn and inside the block of soot.
I will post a picture of the oem grid heater.
I wish I had taken pictures of the intake horn and sensor as it was full of soot, and honestly, I don't know how the sensor didn't fail or how the truck was even breathing.
After cleaning everything up and putting it all back together, I noticed reduced EGTs by 50 or 100 degrees and a tad bit more throttle response.
Customer service was fantastic with Glacier diesel, and I highly recommend them and their products.
