Thread: Major Vibration Front End?

    Major Vibration Front End?

I got hit in the front passenger side a while back pretty hard, and since then, I have replaced the track bar drag link tie rod ball joints, added a steering stabilizer, and got it aligned.

I took it down to check the frame; they told me it was only off by 1/2 inch.

No matter what I do, I still have a significant vibration in the front, and when I hit bumps, it kind of veers off to the left-hand side. Im lost for options at this point.

Would anyone know what else I can do to remedy these issues?

Did you get the frame to straighten back out?

It seems to me a 1/2” would cause everything to be off.

Have you checked the tire rim to make sure it’s not warped?

Ball joints, tie rod ends, wheel weights, wheel bearings, steering box, and brace.

There are so many possibilities, but with the frame bent, I believe that would be the culprit.

One would think whoever is doing the alignments would see or adjust for the issues.

    Re: Major Vibration Front End?

I haven't replaced the wheel bearings or checked the actual wheel itself to see if it's warped.

And as far as the frame being straight, I'm waiting for a couple of guys in line ahead of me.

The frame being bent wouldn't cause the vibrations at different speeds tho, I wouldn't think.

But it's a problem for things like tire wear and stuff like that, but I don't see how it would cause things to vibrate.

It looks like I'll be changing out the wheel and wheel bearings.

There's more to it than this; however, lift the truck and shake the wheels from 12-6 and 3 to 9 for play or wobble.

This will help determine a point that will alleviate your issues.

First, get the frame straightened before throwing an arm full of money at her.
