You will most likely need to go to a dealership to purchase and program the new remote.

Be prepared to pay around $300.

Keep the spare key from your old remote as they charge extra for that.

Our local “Batteries Plus” stores have recently started selling and programming remotes and keys but last I checked they couldn’t get our remotes.
I just tried to unlock the vehicle by handle, and neither handle worked but as soon as I press the unlock button on the remote, the truck unlocked.

Can the key fobs be purchased online?

Yes, you can order them on line, however they will still need to be programmed.

Would this not satisfy that need?

So this is an exciting update.

I was having so many issues with the truck not starting, I have removed the key fob and battery from the remote housing, and everything seems to be usually working right now.

I was walking around with the remote control chip in my pocket, and not only were the doors unlocking upon touch, but the truck was starting without issue.

I already have a new one on the way, but I wanted to share the information in case it stirred any thoughts with anyone regarding the root cause.

As a follow-up, I could not program the key fob with these instructions.

I believe they are geared towards the pear-shaped key fob and not the rounded rectangular ones.

Additional follow-up, after about two weeks of operating just a circuit board and rubber sleeve and it performing flawlessly, I put it back into the clamshell, and it seems to be working correctly again?

Maybe Mr. Circuitboard needed time away from Mrs. Clamshell to realize how good he has it?
