The emissions-exempt vehicles for counties that do emissions testing are on the NC DMV website.

You're fine, just be coy with your wording, don't call em, talk in person and just ask another diesel guy at AutoZone or Walmart parking lot too.
My buddy who lives on base still said the guy I used to go to is still there and still going.

I live in NC and have been wondering how it would go with getting my truck inspected this year.
It will be the first inspection since the deletes. I know diesel trucks only need the safety inspection, so hopefully, I do not run into any issues.
A buddy of mine said he had to go to four different inspection stations before he found one that would pass his truck; he has a deleted Duramax; I'm not sure if that makes any difference.
I also hope the laws do not change from diesels only needing the safety inspection anytime soon.
As I said, I have plenty of buddies with deleted trucks.
I don't know what the issue would be as diesels are exempt.
I never had an issue with a deleted truck at inspection.
I had a problem trading a deleted truck in NC at the RAM dealerships.
None would take it on trade without me putting emissions back on it or charge me to put it back on.
I tried three dealers, and all said the same thing.

Dealerships can be weird on that issue.

I’ll keep this one for a while and run my company-issued truck most of the time.
So personal towing or anything like that will be with mine.
