    In Need Of Wiring Help!

2020 RAM 3500 with Aisin Transmission

After a week off, I got in the truck and saw a CEL upon starting.

I noticed the truck said not in park and failed to give me a temp on the cluster, so I scanned, and it told me, high temp.

I got under the truck and observed what you see in the attached images and the fragments of wires on the ground.

    Mice!

I need to know the gauge of wire I need, how to tear down the plug to get to the pins, what type and size pin, etc.

Please let me know my options.

    Thanks.

Thanks for attempting to help me in any way you can; this is truly urgent; I have shoulder surgery on Wednesday to fix my torn tendon.

My wife needs the truck for when I am unable to drive.

I have the Mopar Tech Authority wiring information for my 2014 Aisin.

Not sure what changes have been made on the newer trucks.

The software won’t allow me to export or print anything, only screenshots.

They do not specify any wire sizes.

I see a 20-pin connector between the TCM and the Transmission Solenoid Pressure Switch Assembly.

Not sure if this is the same connector you have. (See attached).

From what I can see in your photos, I would use a wire gauge or wire stripper to measure the existing wire size.

Then solder or splice the matching colored wires together with the same gauge wire, insulate the splices with heat shrink, and wrap with electrical tape.

Luckily not all the wire is gone to the point where I would NOT know where the specific wire goes into the plug.

I do not have enough wire to make a connection possible to the severed brown wire.

The other two may be possible.

However, I cannot make out any of the writing on the screenshot you provided.

I think the wire is 20 gauge or 22/24 gauge (stranded), re-pinning is not a big deal, I just need help figuring out what type of pins they are.

I will try to de-pin tomorrow using a friends de-pinning tool set.

I wasn’t sure what you needed or even if we were talking about the same connector, but it sounds like we are on the same page.

I looked more, and you are correct; they are 20 gauge wires.

Sorry about the small screenshot; they build so much security into their software for copyright protection that it isn’t easy to share.

I found the connector detail diagram and have attached it in four continuous screenshots see attachments.

I hope this information helps with de-pinning tomorrow.

I see they also list a Repair Kit P/N 68228245AA.

    Please keep us posted.

Thank you for finding this and confirming the wire gauge.

I will look into the various part numbers you provided to source more information about the pin needed.

    Thanks again.

Re: In Need Of Wiring Help!

Today I managed to acquire a rather extensive depinning tool set off one of my good friend's and some 3M cloth wiring loom tape.

I have 20 gauge wire on the way.

Using the information that @AK Bob provided, I was able to track down the manufacture of the harness plug:

    https://nexelec.com/SUMITOMO-61896987/

So the plan is to call them tomorrow and ask if they know the specific replacement pins I need to purchase to finish the job OEM spec.

Which hopefully is not an issue.

I am confident I can make this repair in a professional manner just or if not better than stock.

Big thanks to @AK Bob and @corkey

That's why these forums exist, friend, to help each other out.

I want to get my hands on the book of the gods' PDF file @AK Bob has.

I hope everything goes easy on the re-wiring for you.
