    Voltage Issues/Codes?

So woke up to a “Check Gauges/TC” light on my dash and P063D/P2504 codes on the MM3.

ECM v is showing 12.125, MM3 v is showing 11.8, and alternator v is bouncing between 13-16 at idle but all over the place above idle from 12ish to 18-19.

The truck is idling funny as well.

Am I guessing the alternator has had it?

    Thanks, folks!

Agree; it could be your alternator.

Also, check your battery connections and static voltage on each battery; they should be the same or close when disconnected.

    Re: Voltage Issues/Codes?

I probably should have cleaned the battery connections BEFORE I swapped the alternator.

    New alternator same codes.

Clean battery terminals and connection codes are cleared, and everything looks happy.

Too much info can be bad; watching the alternator voltages bounce all over on the MM3 made me think the regulator was shot.

Now it’s sitting perfectly still at 14.062.

    Thanks, folks, very much appreciated.
