    Re: Airaid Modular Intake Tube?

Regarding the AFE dry panel filter (Pro Dry S), this is the 3rd vehicle I have used on my wife's 2013 X5 diesel, and my 2003 BMW X5 3.0 inline-6 is the other.

No complaints, I clean it per the instructions every 15-20k or so, and it's a good excuse to vacuum out the airbox at that time.

Prices have gone way up since I purchased it, but I always recommend a dry panel filter replacement (nonoiled).

I took out the foam piece in the intake tube when the truck was stocked, but the Airraid tube will give a cleaner look overall, getting rid of the rippled factory tube; it was worth it to me since it was on sale.

I don't know if I'd pay full price for it (almost $200 with tax and shipping).

    The 300-986 is on sale.

    Still pricey.

Yep, I just purchased it from there on sale; yes, it's still pricey, but I think it will clean up that side of the engine.

I'll report back when it comes in, and after installing my impressions, I believe it will be looks only however

EDIT: Looks like it will be delivered today so I'll get it on the truck later

Yea, I ordered one as well.

Had some Airaid stuff (it was good quality) on my 2003 2500 Hemi.
Hemi's were a commodity (LOL) in late 2002, early production.

Apparently K&N purchased Airaid in 2015.

I saw that as well comes up on my CC as K&N engineering.

I figure I won't install the sticker on the tube to leave it stealth, but I guarantee it's the same mold as the K&N intake, so I expect the exact product/quality.

Again it's pricey at $150 for what it is, but we've spent dumber money on our trucks to look cleaner or jazzed up.

Let me know how you like yours!

I went to install Airaid look what I found.

Wonder how long that's been broken.

    Sat. 3:15.

Truck down, have to find OEM clamp.

Will replace both and cover with grease.

The other one is rusting out as well.

It's the boot that goes on the turbo inlet.

    Bummer.

    Always something.

We probably don't fight corrosion as bad as you do living up north.

I don't see how you all do it, I go up north a good bit for work, and it amazes me how quickly vehicles rust away up there because of road salt.

Thanks, I guess this is a fairly common issue with the OEM clamps.
