    Well It Happened!

After getting groceries last night with a fully loaded truck, I felt a loud pop approaching a hill with the converter locked at low rpm.

Girlfriend asks what the He## was that, and I slowly chuckle and respond, "that babe is my transmission."

Pretty positive I snapped the input shaft.

No movements in any gear, locked 4wd to verify it was not the rear end, first checked the u-joints on the driveline, which were intact.

No CEL, no DTC popped up, and an hour 1\2 wait in the rain at 10 pm.

Does anyone mind throwing me suggestions to ponder?

I appreciated it, and I hope you guys have a better start to the weekend than I.

    Cheers fellas LOL

    Well, dang, that sucks!

It sounds like you may have popped a shaft.

    Hopefully, others will chime in.

Sorry to hear the bad news.

I agree; it sure does sound like a broken input shaft.

    Please keep us posted.

    Well It Happened!

This is my first with a transmission issue, so it's out of my knowledge.

Does everything have to be disassembled to check the shaft, correct?

If that is the case, i think it would be in my best interest to do the entire build rather than just put a billet shaft in?

    I take it you’re running a slushbox?

My son has broken the transfer case main shaft before while also smoking the clutch; talk about two things happening together that shouldn’t.

It sure sounds like it’s a shaft, either way.

    Sorry for your trouble.

I don’t have any experience with the 68RFE, but I found this video that may help you figure out your next step.

Bud, all I know is it's a 68RFE which is stock.

With that being said, I'm not mad or upset.

After doing all my mods, I'd been on borrowed time.

I just didn't know when it was going to happen is all
