    68RFE Trans Pan Gasket?

Hello to my fellow brethren of the diesel realm,

Heed these words, for a fellow brother needs your expertise.

Alright, fellas, so here is the problem, I have a Revmax pan on the 68RFE, and the rubber gasket has failed around the rear of the pan.

(My fault) the gasket that Revmax sends with their pan seems to be an all rubber gasket.

Does anyone know a suitable replacement that would work with this pan?

I've heard bad things about cork gaskets, so I'm trying to avoid these if possible.

I have found two gaskets, and I would like to see if anyone knows if they will work for my setup.

It's a pain because you need to wait an hour before you tighten it but has proven to be worth it for me.

Use RTV or the factory gasket for the 2019 and up trucks.

I use the 2019 up gasket on every build I do I have not had a single one leak.

Okay, I'm going to try searching for the gasket specifically for 2019 and up.

I would like to avoid RTV since i do service the transmission filters every 20-25k, and it's a pain to scrape and clean the surfaces for new RTV every service interval.

Just My personal experience and uncles as well.

    https://www.lubelocker.com/products/...e-rfe-llt-crfe

I installed the LL 11.5'' AAM rearend pan gasket with my PML Rear Cover and have zero leaks.
I also have one waiting to be installed with my PPE 68RFE pan - this spring
Of course every bolt torqued to the proper spec.
(Note: I made sure both mating surfaces was virtually clean/smooth - No left over gasket or RTV).
Seems like I cleaned on both surfaces forever - just to assure the best seal for the LL gasket.

Just another option to look into.

When it comes time to service the front differential gear oil - I have plans on installing a PML diff cover and use a LL gasket there as well.

Man, that looks like an excellent gasket right there!!

I already ordered the 19 and up Mopar gasket from @Geno's Garage, but I will be ordering that one from the lube locker if that doesn't work.

    Thank you very much, sir!!

    Re: 68RFE Trans Pan Gasket?

I just thought I’d hopefully throw my experience in here to help another guy.

2015 2500, I dropped the factory pan/fluid, conducted my fluid/filter change, and installed the BD Diesel deep pan with the 2018+ reusable gasket.

I got everything bolted up and torqued with a snap-on torque wrench (so I hope it’s accurate, haha).

Before I even started the truck and got around 9-10 quarts of fluid in her, she had already started leaking out the very back of the pan.

Is this normal with the factory reusable gasket?

I have heard great things about them, and that’s why I went this route instead of the flat gaskets.

I’ll use RTV if I have to, but I hate that sh!t.

I haven’t had a single factory pan gasket leak.

I mainly use PPE Maghytec and revmax pans; no issues with them.
