You only need 80 PSI in the rear when towing something heavy it is the MAX PSI for the weight specified.

I have the Toyo MTs with the three-ply sidewall.

I run 65 in the front and 50 in the rear empty, and the wear is even.

My 5'er is a 28 ft that maxes out around 10k lbs.

I tested 70 PSI in the rear was best as my trailer isn't all that heavy.

If I hitch up to something heavy like the gooseneck at work, I go with 80 PSI.

    I have Sam tires.

    Run 60 all around.

And yes, higher psi gets a little squirrelly.

The only thing I ever tow is my boat and trailer, weighing somewhere as round 3700 lbs with trailer.

Any recommendations how to set the PSI on the tires based on that load?

You can use a load table.

    Re: Cooper Rugged Trek Question

Are weight ratings in the tire load table per tire?

Also, I assume you need to factor in the weight of the actual vehicle itself, which I'm not 100% sure on off the top of my head; I assume this weight is also needed, correct?

    Same tires, same size.

They have a bit more give to them than other tires I've had.

It seems to have gotten better after some miles are put on them could be that I'm more used to it, though, too.

Empty, I run 45-50 in the rears and 60-65 in the fronts.

Towing/hauling rear PSI depends on the load I'm dealing with.

Weight rating on the tire is per tire.

Yes, you would need to factor in vehicle weight to some extent.

The weight on the tire will depend on it being in the front or rear.

Unless you have a scale to go under the tire, it would be a complete guess.

Yeah, I had something like 60/55 all the time, even when towing the boat.

I may need to review that and possibly adjust it. I just dropped it to 60 all around and will see how that feels.

It almost feels like a big dragging now.
