    Drive Shaft U Joint Clips?

So do you guys have retaining clips on your rear driveshaft?

I just noticed on mine, there are no clips on it.

    Not even one.

The grooves are there for the external clips but nothing there.

Could see maybe throwing one or two but eight of them?

Not trying to throw a cap

My 2014 3500 has all the retaining clips.

Hopefully, someone with 2012 2500 will chime in.

I may have the injection-molded retainers; oh joy.

That's going to be fun for when I replace them here soon.

Ive seen people use a torch to melt the plastic out that the common practice?

I am not trying to mess up the temper on the ears, if there is any.

Yes you just heat the ears up the plastic will ooze out.

I use a oxy/acetylene torch at the shop but a propane plumbers torch will work just fine.

Do you have plastic nubs sticking out from the yoke near each cup?

They put them in place with molten plastic, they center the joint perfectly and inject plastic into the groove (cap have groove too) and to remove them, you need to heat them up, not much, a propane torch will do it, then once out, you will use the typical clip set up.

This is only a factory deal.

    That is my guess.

Seen it plenty of times and use heat to replace them too.
