Also, don't hesitate to ask for help when or if you get stumped; that's why we are all here for brother.

    Thank you for the update.
Fortunately, this weekend still has three days left, and I feel like I'll probably need all of it.

    Appreciate it!

I will keep that in mind and continue with the updates.

    Cheers!

I have all the connections to the CP3 undone, and I have that little front cover off.

I can already tell the most challenging part of the CP3 change is getting that serpentine belt back on, LOL.

Any tips or tricks out there?

    Is the CP3 off?

One of the most significant issues is the washer behind the nut. DO NOT DROP IT BEHIND THE COVER.

If this happens, you are committed to a 6-hour job retrieving the washer alone.

The belt wasn't an issue for me; I just took it off the pulleys to gain more room.

Reassure to keep everything clean on and near the fuel lines.

Once everything is in place, purge the fuel line for air by turning "key on, engine off" to help minimize air bubbles on initial startup.

Your 'lift pump will remove all of it, but it'll help the system out more by forcing the air out before connecting the inlet fuel line.

Yes, I'm going to be cautious as I can!

    I don't want that.

I had to run to town to get the correct socket for the gear nut.

I'm deleting the belt to replace it while doing this; it was a ***** just getting it out.

Good idea to change the belt while you're that far into it.

Did you get the standard one or the heavy-duty "green" belt?

Just the standard one, I believe.

So I have the 4 connections, 3 bolts, and gear nut w/ washer off.

CP3 has some play, but I'm having trouble pulling it out.

Tried some light prying. Not sure what the best way to get it off is.

    ETA: *3 nuts

Mine was a bit of a pain just because it has been on for so long, and it will come off with some prying but don't get too crazy with smacking it.

The best way to try is, like your doing.

Once the correct amount of torque is applied to the nut, it's pressed on.

The shaft is tapered, which is why its being a pain sliding off.

Equal pressure on the CP3 when trying to budge it off.

Edit: Use a small puller on gear, and make sure the keyway is oriented at 12 o'clock.

Well, it's off, and the new one is in place.

I had to unplug the ECM to get the harness out of the way and use a gear puller.

I can't get the new one to sit flat against the flange.

Is it okay to put the gear nut back on and suck it back in that way?

ETA: Never mind. Put some assembly lube on the o-ring and slid right in.

The CP3 is complete, so I have to put the new serpentine belt on and throw the intake horn back.

I am going to start it up before proceeding!

    Good deal, brother.

It will probably take a bit longer to turn over even with bleeding the fuel system, "which is normal."
