They told me I needed a new axle assembly and the warranty company denied it based on aftermarket ball joints from the previous owner.

Does anybody have any tips or tricks so that I don't have to replace the whole assembly?
Some will probably call this a hack, but it works, and I have done it many times with no issues.

If aftermarket ball joints with the splines are still loose in the axle hole, take a chisel and hammer and gouge a line in the axle hole in a few places; the ball will press in and hold.

I did it to many trucks and my 97 with a Dana 60 at least eight years ago, and it is still holding.
