    How Much Soil/Dirt Can Fit?

Ok, I looked up online, and I'm getting conflicting info.

I would like to know how much volume will fit in a long bed srw 4wd 3500 with no bags.

The tires have plenty of load capacity.

Previous trucks I've had 2nd Gen and 3rd Gen had bags, and I was probably overloaded by weight due to those years' rating, but I can't remember how much I put in the trucks.

In my current truck, I've had pellets on a pallet that was 2000k, and the truck was squatting almost 2 inches.

I'm building raised beds for my dad a power wheelchair, so I need to do 6 cubic yards and want to make the fewest trips.

From pick-up spot to his house is 6 miles.

If I'm not spilling over the rails, how many cubic yards would this be?

    Thanks for the help.

I've had a yard of mulch in a short bed, which pretty much filled the bed.

Not sure if the soil would be different, but I hope this helps.

    Yes, thanks.

The soil will likely be moist but not soaked with so little more weight.

Maybe I can get 1 5 cubic yards.

Agree, 1.5 Cubic Yards will probably just about max you out with weight and size.

    Rough calculations
Volume of the bed is 8ftx6ftx1.5ft = 72cuft
    1cuft = 0.037yard
    2.6yards.

Personally have had 2yards of topsoil in my truck that is the same as Dieselwrks.

Keep in mind the loader is not exact and depends on the operator.

    A 3500 single can take a little over 4klbs.

Oh my, I’m glad the days of shoveling bulk material out the back of a pickup are over for me.

    Rent a dump trailer.

Your back will thank you, if not now, 30 years down the road.
