Randy’s Juicebox (Trans Line Thermal Bypass)?

Is anybody on here running a juicebox or the one from Revmax?

My average operating temp was 167 and up to maybe 185 at most when hot out or when towing.

Now it idles at 130-135 and drives around 120-125.

I’m happy it’s lower now but is that maybe too low?

    I just swapped in Randy’s stage 2 68RFE.

I purchased an ATS - with only 450 miles on my New 2017 - My 68RFE never or rarely gets over 175*F while towing (My Wifes Companies) 11K lb enclosed trailer ---> Moving Daughter back & forth to College & Physical Therapy School. (Ambient Temps --> 95-98*F)
    68RFE: Tow Haul Mode / 5th gear --> 65mph.

I live in Oklahoma - so there are not many long uphill grades - until I travel to the southeastern part of the state - closer to Arkansas.

Everyday driving (Interstate / Turnpike) not towing @ 75-85mph temps never gets over 145*F...
"One of the Most Effective - common sense mod I have done so far."

I believe the deeper PPE (Aluminum) trans pan plays a very small part in these lower temps. (3 extra quarts)

Note: I've never heard of or read about a transmission failure due to below-average ATF temps.
"If others have heard or read of this --> Please Post Up!

But there are hundreds of recorded reports of the OEM thermal by-pass failing closed and causing the owner (Due to Overheating) - Thousands of $$$$ in repairs.

Just don't be one of those Dorks & Neglect the Transmission ATF Service - New Filters & New Synthetic ATF is a Game Changer when it comes to the service life of your Hard Working Trans.

I do realize Engine Oil & ATF needs to be above a certain temp for the addtive package to be effective.
If you live in an arctic climate - it might be wise to stay with the OEM or go with the Adjustable Thermal by-pass delete.
Also, invest in a High Quality (FULL Grill) cover - for the front.

    EDIT:
Can someone verify - the actual TI measuring the ATF temp (OEM Dash Temp) is located inside the Valve Body?

    Okay.

    That makes me feel better.

I think I’m good with the grill cover.

    I’m from Cali.

It doesn’t get cold enough here.

Maybe up the hill in the mountains, but not where I live.

Update: I called Randy’s, and they said those lower temperatures that I have now are perfect.

The temp sensor is located in the transmission range sensor, which is part of the solenoid pack.

Re: Randy’s Juicebox (Trans Line Thermal Bypass)?

Stupid question time, but I’m learning.

Is that just upgrading the OEM thermal bypass or is part of upgraded system?

Can a guy just upgrade the bypass or would he have to do x y and z with the bypass?

    Thanks for teaching me.

The thermal bypass is a direct replacement for your stock item.

It doesn’t have a thermostat inside so the transmission fluid is always running through the transmission cooler.

Re: Randy’s Juicebox (Trans Line Thermal Bypass)?

I am curious, Not to hijack the thread, but I have a 2012 3500 68RFE w/deep pan 4:10 max tow 103k miles with DRD stuff, and I am nowhere near the temps' others list for their trans.

I have the Revmax "bypass," which for 2012 eliminates the thermal block, and you have straight lines.

I live in the bottom of Alabama so that the humidity can get high along with the temp.

Typically the trans temp will stay about 100 degrees over ambient, so yesterday it was 75, my temps were 178 ish on the interstate cruising at 65 empty.

I pull a Fuzion 369 roughly 15-16k and can easily see 190-200 degrees.

I know this is not necessarily destroying my trans, but others are posting 175 degrees trans temp with 95-98 temps, and I am originally from Oklahoma, so I know the weather there.

Am I missing something, or is this a sign of something going out?

I am reading the temp from the factory gauge.

I'm just making sure I'm not about to drop serious cash on a new trans.

I would say your transmission temperatures are fine and would expect them to be a little higher when towing heavy in a warm climate.

Let’s not forget the benefit of the thermal bypass is to eliminate the known issue of the stock unit failing in the closed position where none of the transmission fluid is going through the cooler.
