2007.5 6.7L Cummins Exhaust Brake

After rereading my posts, it wasn't obvious.

There is a box on the pass side frame rail that the NOX sensor wire plugs into, unplug the wire from that box and see if that solves your problem.

After rereading my posts, it wasn't obvious.

There is a box on the pass side frame rail that the NOX sensor wire plugs into, unplug the wire from that box and see if that solves your problem.

I looked all over the passenger frame rail, and there isn't any box except the one with a roughly 12 wire plugin that is an oxygen sensor.

I assume there was one that was removed during the delete.

The only other thing that comes to mind is the backpressure sensor.

The sensor may be bad and give false info to the ECM.

Before replacing the sensor, you could try taking off the tube that goes to the exhaust manifold and make sure it isn't plugged, and take back pressure sensor out and make sure the block it goes into isn't plugged with soot between the sensor and where the tube from the manifold goes into it.

The hole where the tube from the manifold attaches isn't very big and can get plugged up easily.

If that doesn't change anything, I would try a new sensor.

I feel very, very dumb right now.

So, after roughly 4.5 years without an exhaust brake, I had given up on having one.

I got my hands on my very own Autel Maxisys Ultra from a mechanic friend of mine when he upgraded.

I was playing around in it on my truck and stumbled on an option in the PCM labeled exhaust brake.

Wouldn’t you know it was disabled?

I hit enable and took it off down the road, and it works now.

So, to anyone with this issue, make sure it is on, or you might pull your hair out trying to troubleshoot something you’ll never find.
