    2018 RAM 2500 - 68RFE Valve Body Upgrade

    I have a 2018 RAM 2500 that’s entirely stock.

The truck has 39,000 miles on it.

I want to upgrade the valve body in my 68RFE.

I’ve done so much research that I’m giving myself a headache.

I know all these valve bodies allow the option to run higher line pressure than stock.

I know Randy’s baby maker can be ordered with or without tuning.

Will detrimental effects be using one of the other options out there without trans tuning?

I eventually intend to tune and delete my truck in the future, but that could be a year or two down the road, and I would like not to have to pull the valve body again for the higher line pressure.

You can use a Revmax valve body without any problems, but maybe someone will chime in that knows.

    Thanks for the responses.

I spoke with a salesman from Revmax who said you needed tuning to use the valve body.

I took what he said with a grain of salt, being a “salesman.”

Honestly, he made me not want to spend my money with Revmax; attitude stunk.

I completely understand that these transmissions need tuning to increase line pressure.

I wanted to service my transmission and figured that while the pan and filters were out, I would address some of the weak spots with low miles.

I just installed the Revmax HD Valve Body in my 2019 this past weekend.

I dealt with Josh @RevMax, and he was excellent to work with.

I am also already running tunes from @DRD, so I just had to get a retune from Ray to take advantage of the line pressure increase.

The install was simple, and so far, the truck feels excellent.

I don’t know about an untuned truck, but I sure wish I would have done my valve body sooner.

I will also say that I’ve had nothing but good contacts with Revmax.

To get the desired effect of a new VB, I also believe you probably want to get your pressure raised.

White Ram 2500 4x4 Laramie, Tuned, 625 ARPs, Revmax transmission with a billet input shaft, billet flex plate, Revmax thermal bypass, Revmax deep pan, Revmax billet valve body,
4600 shocks, Airdog 165, ARE shell, Line-X, ICT grid heater delete, Glacier diesel grid heater, stock size tires and wheels, stock suspension, mostly just a stock truck.
