    ECM Reset?

Long story short - after a few nights of mid-teens temps and not driving truck, wouldn’t turn over. Key fob wouldn’t even unlock doors. All is well now except that when I unlock with the fob the only door that unlocks is driver door. All four used to unlock. Do I need to reset the ECM, and what is the procedure to do so?

    Thanks!

Maybe try disconnecting both batteries and tie-wrap the positive and negative terminals together overnight while you fully recharge both batteries.

    Both batteries are fully recharged.

I’ll try disconnecting both batteries overnight and see what happens.

    Thanks!

    It's worth a try.

It’s the only way I know to reset the PCM.

    Please keep us posted.

    Re: ECM Reset?

Have you tried replacing the battery in the FOB?

I have had FOBs act funny when their battery is low.

New vehicles will display on the dash when the battery is low.

The FOBs are managed by the Radio Frequency Hub (RFH), not the ECU/PCM.

If you have AlfaOBD, you can clear and add back your FOBs.

There may be something causing a CAN communication problem, which would result in the FOB not allowing the truck to start.

Have you recently installed anything electronic?

Fairly new battery in the FOB.

I did the PCM reset (disconnected the batteries last night & reconnected this morning.

    All is well.

    Thanks for the help, guys!
