    What Have We Here?

155K miles, the injector started to stick, and white smoke started at a few intersections.

Call II and ordered a set of 6, removed old injectors, and was a freak about cleaning everything (this truck has seen BAD B100)
Installed injectors and during a 5-minute warm-up period.

The truck stumbles and shuts off.

I pulled the valve cover gasket, and this is what I found.

I "think" I know the reason, but I am looking at the knowledge on this forum to light the way.

The truck has been down for 9 weeks now, so I am about clinical.

I even started looking at... GASP:::: a Honda to drive to work::: oh the horror...

    Ok, folks, what causes this?

I would not think that the bottom of the solenoid would ever see rail pressure.

    Re: What Have We Here?

I have not seen other injectors when pulled out - other than YouTube, here is what my injectors, cups, and fuel tubes look like with "Known Bad B100" running in the truck for 20 to 30k miles.

Even with cleaning as best as possible.

My theory is that I have a blockage in the fuel return passage.

That passage is nearly impossible to clean appropriately while on the truck, and I am not sure I will get it entirely cleaned even off the truck.

I am considering a new/reman head to ensure that I am not leaving a mess that will lead to issues down the road.

    What do you guys think?

    Re: What Have We Here?

Every time I’ve seen a solenoid pop like off, it was the return clogged.

Usually, the bolt-on back of the head is clogged with trash.
