TCC - How Long In Partial Lock For Shifts - 2nd To 4th Shift

I know shift flare has been discussed a million times.

Wondering how long your torque converter stays in the partial lock (MM3 TCC state=4) during shifts?

    30% to 33% throttle, 1500 rpm.

Just letting the truck shift through gears, my partial lock between gears is 3 seconds.

    Is that normal?

It feels like a long time.

Also, at the 30%,1500rpm, it shifts right through 3rd gear.

So the shift out of 2nd is mushy.

From 2nd gear upshift it goes, TC partial lock - shift to 3rd - pause - TC full lock - partial lock - shift to 4th - pause - TC full lock.

It does this without any hesitation in 3rd.

It was shifting from 2nd up through 4th.

One long continuous shift from 2nd to 4th and feels extremely mushy.

I am thinking about asking Dr. to push the shift from 3rd to 4th out to stay in 3rd for a bit.

The truck has Dr. weight loss, 30HP, FLO~PRO 4", 3:42, stock size tires.

    No other mods.

    2015 / RAM / 2500 CTD-68RFE-4wd / 3.42 / stock tire size / Silver / Bighorn

On mine, the data lags; I can feel my triple-disc go from partial to full apply before the MM3 data shows full apply.

My data does not seem to lag.

    It takes that long.

I can feel the TC partial to full lock.

Make a quick video of your truck going through the gears and post it here.

That will make it easier for us to tell you if what you are experiencing is typical.

TCC state, gear-present, and rpm in the video?

The more info, the better, but if you film the gauge cluster with the tach and make sure we can hear the engine well in the video, I should tell you if what is going on is normal or not.

If you can do a video at 30% throttle or whatever throttle percent you are concerned about, then do another one with a closer 75% throttle.

    To be able to compare.

My initial thoughts based on your description are that the trans-torque converter is acting normally.

These things don't feel like a Ford or Allison Transmission if you are used to.

The partial lock-up of the torque converter is very noticeable and takes a while on my truck as well.

    Especially during light acceleration.
