Re: New Build - Need Advice

First, I'd like to determine what exhaust brake setups would be feasible and why one is or isn't preferred over the other.

I will try to keep the forum post updated so that any advice can be weighed.

I want the exhaust brake to operate like the factory as in auto and complete but with a more dependable setup and more braking power.

I'm unsure of the turbo set up at this time.

Am I thinking both waste-gated fixed geometry turbos?

    Does that sound right?

I want to have this setup sound as good as it performs if possible.

Anyone with experience in this area, please share your experiences.

    Question to all experienced.

As is probably apparent, I'm not familiar with building Cummins or modern trucks. 7.3L sure, but not these.

Ray says that the conrods would need to be done with a girdle to support compounds.

Fair, I just hadn't considered it because a 7.3L will support about double the rated hp before needing this mod.

Well, I guess I'm already doubled.

So the question is, can I go single turbo.

Say 467.7 with nozzles without conrods and girdle?

If so, how far can I push it hp wise without connecting rods?

I still plan to raise rpm to ease the load on conrods and bearings with valve springs, and what nozzle rating accomplishes what power rating?

6.7's with single turbos are goodish to about 800-850 on stock rods depending on the setup and how you drive, plus the tune.

I'd stick around 750hp on the safe side.

First, I'd look at a clutch and flywheel setup.

Not sure what the power limits are for a G56.

for the fuel side of things, I'd talk to an injector company and discuss what's best for You

With valve springs, you'll need pushrods as well

    2014 ram slt. 6.8L, s472, ddp supermental 150%'s, 12mm CP3, fleece powerflo, stage 2 d&j head, revmax 700,

    I've sorted clutch already. Valair.

I'll work on pushrods and springs, and injectors.

A second CP3 and kit will be needed or a built pump.

    Keep it simple.

Fleece 10mm CP3 is good for roughly 800hp depending on the setup, but the injector company will recommend what to use based on your setup needs and wants with their injectors.

I like Dynomite diesel for all my questions, but there are many more out there that specialize in injectors.

What lift pump do you have?

    OEM currently.

I'll go with FASS unless there are any other recommendations to look into.

I'm running the Fleece powerflo, and so far so good they rate them for about 800hp.

Ido like the in-the-tank more because both fleece and FASS are good.

I'm going to over fuel and air this engine.

Still might start looking at a replacement drop in the engine to build ground up.

I wonder what my cousin would charge to machine a billet block.
