Switch on, and everything is back to normal.

For the starter to be jumped, it has to be the two big terminals and not the tiny connector, right?
Unfortunately, I don’t have a wiring diagram for your year's truck.

I guess you could verify by turning the switch off then jump the battery positive to the starter solenoid to make sure it cranks but doesn’t run.
