Correct Coolant - 2012 RAM 2500 Cummins - Factory Coolant

    Hi All,

Is the Mopar 68051212AC the correct coolant to run for 2012 with the factory coolant still in the system?

From reading 2007-2012 used HOAT coolant, from 13 on up they switched to oat coolant, and I read that you should not mix HOAT and OAT coolant together.

    Thank you for any help.

I thought I read years back - where FCA chose to switch from HOAT (Gold Coolant) to OAT (Purple / Red / Orange) coolant somewhere between the model years of 12/13.

If the OEM coolant in the reservoir was (Gold) it's HOAT.

If it was somewhat of a (Purple-Bluish) color, it's OAT!

Yes - You are 100% correct ---> do not mix HOAT & OAT!

    Agreed.

The dealer put hoat in my 16 when they did the water pump recall.

Now I have no heat at all.

Guess who has to fix it. Me!!!

Because it was 5.5-6 months before I realized what was going on and needed heat.
