Just a diesel enthusiast helping others:
2015 3500 Mega Cab Aisin Leveled on 35's.
2018 3500 Crew Cab G56 leveled on 35’s
2021 3500 Mega Cab HO Aisin screaming eagles..
Towing that heavy on a 35" tire, I'd go 4.88s then.
Get it up on the map and take advantage of some extra torque multiplication.
** edit ** I just saw your sig and saw that you have a G56 truck.
A 4.56 would work sweet at that GVW.

The one I'm asking about is an Aisin.
The other 4th gen is a G56 truck; the new one is an Aisin.

What would you say is a ballpark price to upgrade to 4.10s?

On a 4x4?
Gears and kits are probably $1500-2k
Labor?
Book time is roughly 8hr/axle, diff shops local are $150/hr.

Hey guys just saw this post after I made mine and it seems like a ton of good info in this one so I figured I join.
Got a 2016 RAM 3500 with 58,000 miles.
All stock right now with the 68RFE tranny. 3.42 gearing 35-inch tires.
When I’m towing decently heavy. 20,000 24,000 on the back roads where I live with lots of hills the truck seems to really struggle on the hills.
It doesn’t not feel like the trans slipping.
It feels like your in 3rd gear trying to go up a hill when your really in 1st.
Trans temp never got over 172 while towing also.
I will be doing a full delete soon just getting everything together if that is going to make a difference.
Is this a gearing issue with 3.42?
Would putting in 3.73 or even 4.10 make this thing better for towing.
