Using Factory Installed Air Leveling Compressor For Other Accessories?

I searched forums for this and the forums service manuals (no 2016) and saw nothing on it.

My 2016 2500 Laramie Limited has factory-installed airbags on the rear axle and a compressor that seems like it's just installed for the airbags leveling.

Has anyone tried to tap into this and use it for general servicing or an airhorn?

I haven't looked into it extensively to see if specs are placed on the air compressor.

It's hushed when it operates by selecting trailer ride height, but it is a decent-sized tank.

Not sure if it would have enough capacity/CFM.

Any information on this would be appreciated.

    From what I've heard.

The factory and aftermarket truck airbag pumps will burn up if used for air horns and tire inflation.

    You'll have to upgrade it.

    I'd think it's a duty cycle issue.

I installed a small air compressor and a 1/2 gallon air tank; it works great for my air horns, 157DB, and lasts a long time.
