    DTC P0692 - Code Question

    IMG_1890.jpg

Does anyone have any knowledge of this code?

My fan hub bearing is going out, and I’ve ordered a new hub assembly and thought it might as well change out the fan clutch while I was at it.

I am waiting on that to come in as well.

The truck wasn’t throwing any code until yesterday when I noticed the temp riding and the ac not cooling well.

I checked my diagnostic platform (MM3 with DRD tunes), and it had the code above.

I checked the relay and fuse.

The fuse seemed fine and moved the relay from the air ride plug into the position for the fan.

I cleared the code, and the fan seemed to be working.

Drive it a bit and recheck the codes it was displayed again.

I was able to stop the fan from spinning with my hand while running.

Do we think it’s more than likely the fan clutch?

Possibly faulty due to the bearing being bad and there being play in the fan rotation.

Anyways any help and insight are much appreciated.

Re: DTC P0692 - Code Question

I got the fan bearing assembly swapped with the fan clutch, and my issue has been resolved.

    Praise The Lord.

I also saved a ton of money by doing it myself. Just a couple busted knuckles and a gash on my eye from a breaker bar but got'erh done!

I took it to the shop I would typically have to do any significant work, and they were going to charge me 700 bucks just for the bearing assembly part.

I was initially going to get the bearing assembly from @Geno's Garage, but they were back-ordered.

Got both the fan clutch and assembly off of Newegg for a total of roughly 470 in less than a week.

I was pumped that it all worked out.

    Like I said, Praise Jesus!

Anyways just wanted to give an update.

I hope everyone has a wonderful Sunday!
