Not New To The Game - But Need To Learn New Tech

I’m no stranger to diesel, but I’ve intentionally avoided anything post 07 for long enough.

    I’ve just bought 2017 5500 with Aisin 69rc.

Now I’ve got to learn the new tech.

I run a tree service out of Fayetteville, Arkansas.

Our fleet is almost evenly split between DT 466’s and Cummins ranging from four-banger to ISCs in the Peterbilt's.

    Our current Cummins fleet is
    93 D350 with Getrag
    94 2500 2wd NV4500 pickup.
    94 2500 2wd NV4500 service body truck
    01 F650 with 5.9 vp44 (plan on a p7100)
06 Peterbilt flatbed ISC 8.3 common rail
06 Peterbilt Grapple IS 8.3 common rail
    13 off-road QSB 4.5 common rail
    17 5500 Aisin 69RC.

Currently, the 5500 is being shipped to us, and I’m starting the research process on the best route to let it breathe.

The increased power isn’t the goal.

    More so reliability and longevity.

I won’t be the primary driver, so locking out any high EGT tunes would be necessary.
