    Disillusioned Newbie

Hi to everyone out there in Cummins Land, and I want to thank you for your site.

I am a middle-aged farm girl that has been a truck owner my whole adult life and a 12 valve Cummins owner/driver since 2003.

My first was a 97 Dodge RAM 3500 5 speed 4x4 farm truck feed truck, and I loved that truck.

In 2015 I bought a 98 Dodge RAM 2500 4x4 automatic short bed SLT, as I want to call it, a club cab, and I was the 2nd owner; this was my go-to town truck.

Things changed, as we all know, and I found myself farming on my own.

Last year my house burned, and my 98 was in the garage, but a deputy saved it before the roof came down.

I am no mechanic but can do the basic stuff, and I was not going to handle repairs; as my ole truck came out covered in soot but cleaned up well, I could not tell it was in a fire.

It did, however, develop a severe oil leak, and by severe, I mean oil was running out as fast as I put it in.

It lost power also; now that I am on my own, I no longer have a live-in mechanic, then things took a turn for the worst.

I could not find any place that wanted to tear into my truck.

    Now, this happened on 2/10/2020.

The truck sat at one shop for ten months; they did nothing.

July, I found a diesel build shop that said they could fix it with no problem.

I got my truck back last week, and I was so excited, but that didn't last long.

The Dude told me he would bring it to me, and the truck showed up on a rollback as it started and was backed off.

The next few days have been a total nightmare.

I still cannot believe what has been done to my truck.

This "build shop" has swapped out my truck and returned something that matches color but ends there.

I am at a loss have lost all faith in humanity.

That's why I joined this site at least to know some real people love their Cummins.

I had spent the last five years upgrading my suspension, deleting the wander and wobble.

I had just installed a new Jasper Automatic Transmission.

When I dropped my stock trailer on, my truck had a 3 in the lift; it never moved. It stood tall and proud.

That truck is gone, and what they did was put my cab on another frame.

Yes, they denied everything told me I needed help.

The first thing I did was check the numbers on the block, not my truck.

I have receipts for all parts and upgrades.

Is there any chance of getting my truck?

I am afraid of the answer to that.

This guy stole my truck, and I paid him to do it, and I filed a police report.

Any suggestions for recovery would be greatly appreciated.

Welcome friend! Glad to have ya here.

That sounds like a huge nightmare!

It’s a shame people can not be honest anymore.

Sorry to hear about your house also.

What’s the shop's name and state your in?

    Did you retain a lawyer?

If not, then that’s something you should look into since you already filed a police report.

    Please keep us updated.

    Welcome!

    So sorry to hear this.

You were clearly scammed and taken advantage of.

Hopefully, what goes around comes around.

As previously suggested, I believe the only option you have at this point is through legal channels.

The sad thing is, now you have to pay out money to pursue this, and depending on the legitimacy and assets of the business, you may get some satisfaction but never be compensated.

I would start by finding out more information about who and what you are dealing with.

Welcome in and sorry about your house.

I'd get a lawyer if what you're saying is true.
