RaceME Ultra Problem

Today, I started the truck, and the display was blank, with no flashing lights.

Unplugged OBD connector and plugged back in.

Tuner came on to the main menu.

I touched one of the gauge layout icons, but the touch screen isn’t working.

Unplugged the OBD again and, upon closer inspection, noted a bit of what looks like corrosion.

Could that be causing my issue?

I would address the corrosion issue first by cleaning and spraying a good quality contact cleaner, then see if that fixes the issue.

Just cleaned the OBD connectors with a CRC electronics cleaner.

Corrosion is gone but still not working.

I’ve emailed RaceME tech support and will report back here with their response when I get it.

I just heard from RaceME.

Here is their response:

Hello,
Reset the Ultra and ECM.

Key off.
Disconnect Ultra OBDII cable.
Disconnect both negative battery cables for 30 minutes.
Reconnect battery cables.
Connect Ultra OBD II cable.
Key to run.

Now, if I do that, it’ll reset the ECM.

What does it reset to?

If I have to retune and the tuner still won’t function, then what?

The truck is not drivable, correct?

Disconnecting the batteries will not cause you to lose your tune as it is already written to the ECM.

I believe when they say “Reset the ECM” they are basically referring to a reboot.

Hopefully, others will chime in.

I believe AK Bob is correct; disconnect your batteries will reset your ECM to last stored.

I am beginning to think that you may have a bad RaceME Ultra unit.

I would call them back for further guidance.

They suggested doing an update as I’m on version 7C - the latest version is 11.

I may try that to see what happens.

I may also pull the micro SD card and see if there are any corrupt files.

As a lifetime member here, can I get access to Ray’s site?

If it is truly broken and has to be replaced, I’d just as soon get an MM3 and let Ray do the tune.
