    Rhythmic Vibration 55+ MPH

Hey guys, I searched but couldn’t find anything 100% like my situation.

    The truck is a ‘14 3500 68RFE with 47k miles.

Diet and tuned at 44k Miles.

    I had 295/70 Firestone M/T’s installed at 46k miles.

    However, this just started today.

With all that out of the way, today cruising to work 55-60 mph, truck in 6 gear, I noticed a rhythmic vibration/hum/shudder.

I say vibration and shudder because I could feel it in the seat, or so I think.

Downshift to 5th, and it went away, or so I think, could be drowned out by the increase in RPM’s/ power coming on.

Once I got to work, I switched the MM3 from power level 1 to 0 (60hp to 30) in fear of the TC issues I’ve read upon.

Is a TC shudder “violent”? No doubt it is doing it, or does it start as a rhythmic womp-womp-womp type event?

Other than the diet, tune and tires, the truck is stock suspension-wise.

Guess I’m looking for input on what a TC shudder would feel/sound like.

I read a thread where Ray said the engine harmonics could be felt through the trans case at low RPM.

Sorry for the novel, hoping to give as much background as possible to avoid the rabbit hole of check this, sounds like this, etc.

Check the drive shaft carrier bearing.

Single piece Aluminum drive shaft, so unfortunately not that easy.

    I got my hopes up!

I get a sort of rhythmic vibration at interstate speeds.

Vibration in the seat might last a few minutes, then go away for a bit, then come back - no matter how smooth or rough the road is.

I've always chalked it up to the chunky M/T tires.

    I hope so.

I will take it to the tire shop tomorrow and see if they can spin the tires and confirm.
