Check Engine Light - Air Intake Temperature Sensor

    Hello,

I just recently did a Stainless Diesel 2nd Gen swap on my truck.

After about 500 miles, my check engine light came on with the P0111 code, and my air intake temperature sensor would peg up to 275 degrees, and then all of a sudden come back down to a reasonable temperature, i.e. (119).

I can clear the code and drive for about 100 miles, and then the check engine light comes back on.

I have changed the air filter to a dry air filter and replaced the sensor, but I am still getting the check engine light even after clearing it.

Does anyone know what the problem could be?

    Any help is greatly appreciated!

See attached PDF for help troubleshooting this issue.

Sounds like a bad intake air temperature sensor.

    I hope this helps.

    Please keep us posted.

Re: Check Engine Light - Air Intake Temperature Sensor

    It’s not a bad sensor.

I have purchased and installed both an IAT and MAP sensor.

    Does anyone else have suggestions?

I have seen people say they had a similar issue, but never out of or what the fix was; one person even said that their programmer was going to change some values in for their tune but never put if it was fixed.

I realize this is a little late, but did you replace the Intake Manifold Temperature Sensor.

See the photo attached; it’s the disconnected sensor in the center. Mopar P/N 6820 6021AA or Cummins P/N 2872858.
