I got to thinking the power steering lines could be deteriorated inside and collapsed.

That would definitely cause issues turning your wheel.

I had that happen to me on a 98 12Valve.

    Absolutely could be.

I know the return from the cooler has some cracking on the line around the clamp.

Just going to swap it out and not have to worry about it.

Well, I swapped the power steering pump out this weekend and got a good drive under her belt.

    It definitely fixed the issue.

I can now brake and steer at the same time, haha.

The steering still needs some tweaking, and I think to get it dialed in.

Steering is much more responsive and tighter now.

Even at this point, I feel like it has a little less bump steer.

I think the alignment needs a little more tweaking.

    Less caster, I think.

I was getting death wobble on sharp-up bumps, so I took some caster out, and it stopped doing it.

Still have a good wheel shake on them, same bumps, but it centers out quickly after.

When my wheels finally come in, I will have it put on the rack to make sure my cross caster isn't anything crazy.

I think that may have something to do with it as well.
