Smeding CNC Valve Cover Issue - Oil Everywhere!

I installed my Smeding CNC valve cover and hooked up a catch can do it, but oil went everywhere.

I have to spend a weekend cleaning it now.

    What did I do wrong?

Where does the 2nd outlet that points to the driver's side need to go to?

I plugged it thinking my catch can do the rest, and this happened.

    Oh, man!!

    That is a mess!

It looks like all accumulated oil shot out of the output for the catch can.

It looks like a lot of oil.

How long (or many miles) did you have this installed?

For the outlet on the catch can, most connect a long section of hose and route it down by the frame rail under the cab.

Is that a vent to atmosphere catch can?

What’s that open fitting next to the dip stock?

Don’t run a line from the second fitting to the frame; you might as well get rid of the catch can altogether if you do that.

    Something is installed wrong.

I have 2 outlets on top of the valve cover, and then somehow, it has 0 ports for the crankcase press or sensors.

Where do those go to on the block?

What brand catch can be it?

And once again, is it vent to atmosphere or a recirculating type?

If it is a vent to atmosphere catch can move it away from the air filter.

The air filter will suck oil vapor into the motor.

That’s not going to be the reason yours puked oil everywhere, though.

My guess is either it’s full and started overflowing, or it’s not set up for atmosphere vent and over pressurized.

You don’t use the CCV pressure sensors when you swap to a billet valve cover.

It is a Smeding CNC valve cover; it says it has a baffling system in it catch can isn't even apparently needed.

Re: Smeding CNC Valve Cover Issue - Oil Everywhere!

I have found out what to do with the two outlets on the top of the body for anyone who has installed this valve cover.

The one that goes towards the firewall must have a catch can around the brake reservoir for waterfalls reasons.

Then at the bottom of the net, you can have a fitting that drains back into the engine (1 of the y pipes that are now used in the valve cover anymore).

The second is the port that points to the driver's side fender.

It would help if you connected that to the other Y pipe that is not connected to the valve cover anymore.

I HAVE NO IDEA WHY THIS ISNT ON SMEDINGS WEBSITE.

What kind of fittings do you need to complete the job?

I would like to have an idea before I do this.
