    Driveshaft Help!

Have a 2008 6.7L 68RFE 4x4 here with an old steel shaft with u joints that are going.

Located in Florida, but who’s the go-to for updated shafts and joint combos.

Possibly looking at going with a 5” aluminum shaft.

Any advice or knowledge I’d appreciate!

Are you having issues with the driveshaft?

Where I live, we have driveshaft shops, and a couple 18 wheeler dealerships make driveshafts.

There is nothing special about making driveshafts; just make sure whoever does it can measure runout and balance it.

I have some vibration going on, but it’s probably mostly just coming from u joints.

I got a little movement side to side but no In or out.

I’ve heard that the old steel shafts can lose their weights, so been recommended to just swap to an aluminum 5” but wasn’t sure.

I definitely don’t mind paying a little extra for the stronger stuff, being plans later on here soon are to make 800 ish to the wheel.

I’d replace the joints and get it rebalanced if it shakes after replace it unjoints.

The drive shaft will handle that power just fine.
