Opinions On What Brand Of 4 Inch Mufflers

    I'm looking for a muffler.

I don't want a glass pack resonator..im also not fond of MBRP because I've run their stuff in the past, and it's not good quality.

FLO~PRO, Diamond, or eBay is basically it otherwise.

Who all have them now or in the past, and what brand and size did you find works best?

The Twister is what most folks go for and sounds pretty dang good.

That's pretty much what i got from reading in various places.

The only thing that's got me is the design.

Looking at the internal piece, I can't help but think the flow would be quite a bit less and possibly raise EGTs with tuning.

I like the MBRP design better because it's a straight thru with sound distortion material, but I have not been impressed with their quality.

It's basically a resonator without packing.

    I have the FLO~PRO 4” muffler with perforated core P/N 6195.

Still sounds good and no high EGT issues due to restrictions.

It eliminates most of the drone but still can hear some at around 1900 RPM.

    Check out Aero turbine.

They have insulated and noninsulated, and it t killed the drone on the trucks I put it on.

    No issues with EGT

If you haven't yet, check out YouTube and search 6.7L Cummins mufflers.

Re: Opinions On What Brand Of 4 Inch Mufflers

I have tried too many muffler/tailpipe setups.

Honestly spent way too much time and money.

I couldn't find the happy medium of not too loud or not too quiet until just recently.

My current setup is FLO~PRO twister placed 35" past downpipe with a 4" MBRP resonator 18" after the twister into MBRP filter back duals.

I was ok with the twister by itself, but the wife and baby thought otherwise.

    I've tried the following.

The MBRP quiet tone 30" sounds good; it's not supposed to have a drone while towing, but it does have a little.

Muffler placement makes a big difference as well.

The twister sounds great with a single 4", dual 4" or singles DPF back 5".

It's a little loud at highway speeds.

Right after the downpipe, it gets rid of the 2100 rpm rasp. If you put it where the muffler is supposed to go, the rasp comes back.

The aero turbine is just loud all over, and it sounds great tho.

Hard to tell if the drone is gone because it is pretty loud.

The F.T.E. 30" resonator is quiet, great for towing, but it doesn't really sound great, in my opinion, once you get past 2k rpm.

With this right after the downpipe and paired with any muffler, the truck almost sounds stock.
