    Revmax 450S Trans Questions

I can find a ton of info on the Revmax 550, but not the 450S?

Does anyone have any knowledge of the 450S?

In their description on the website, it says for lightly modified trucks and light towing?

What exactly is considered light towing?

I am looking into purchasing one of these 2 options from them, and I’m just wanting to gain further knowledge of either before ordering.

Granted, I only have a tuner and tow my 37’ travel trailer; however, I want to know if the 450S would be sufficient enough to hook to, eventually, a gooseneck with my 2000 Dodge RAM 3500 on it.

Yes, I know I can call them tomorrow, but looking for opinions on longevity before making my decision.

    Thanks all!

    Going in a 2008 Dodge Ram 2500.

The 450 should suit you and your camper well.

By light towing, they mean you're not going to be hauling commercial/hotshot.

If you had any plans to build your truck HP-wise, I'd recommend looking at the 550.

We're direct with Revmax and would be glad to work with you and save you a little bit of money in the process.

Feel free to PM me if you have any questions, as I'll be glad to help.

I'm surprised they are offering a Sonnax drum in anything they build.

Revmax trash-talked the Sonnax drum to no end and always called it a gimmick.

I do not understand why they rate the Sonnax drum so low HP-wise.

Maybe it’s the GPZ clutch they are using in it.

I build the Sonnax drum with factory Borg clutch’s 16 count stack, and they hold 700 without issue.

It seems like you are not a big fan of GPZ clutches from another post I saw, just curious why or what issues you have had with them?

Also, what do you recommend for clutches in a 68 rebuild?

I am about to go through mine and was thinking of using those GPZ torqkits for the clutch packs, but I have no experience with them. I've used the Alto power packs in 47/48re builds with good results but wanted to try the GPZ kits but now maybe not.

2011 3500 SRW Laramie 4×4, 68RFE with billet valvebody. 6.7HO with S&B intake, 5" exhaust, ARP headstuds, Industrial Injection R1 injectors, Fass 165, RaceMe Ultra tuned by DRD, Bilstein shocks, reverse leveled on 285/65/18 Nitto G2s and Raceline wheels, traction bars, B&W gooseneck hitch, Kicker audio, Morimoto and GTR lighting, Uniden R7.

For some reason, GPZ compresses a lot in 68s.

This one still has the lettering on it but is completely flat the notches are gone.

Didn’t slip but had a hard shift because clearance loosened up.

Gpz works great in 47 and 48re's just not 68s.

I use factory Borgs in UD, OD, and LR and alto G3 in 2C and 4C you have to machine the 4C pressure plate when you use them though because the G3 clutches are thicker.
