Diesel Fuel Additives Yes Or No?

I have a 4th Gen, DRD, DRD upgrade, 76,000 on the clock was using Hotshot EDT before the soot cooker fell off, and it may just be me, but it seemed to reduce Regens.

Now that that’s no longer an issue, I wonder if there's any benefit to using an additive?

    Does anyone else use one?

Am I just needlessly pouring extra money into the tank?

    Thanks for your help!

I use Hotshots primarily in the winter and then after each oil change.

I don't know if it helps.

    I don't have any data.

Word on the street is it's pointless with the technology of diesel these days.

It makes me feel good like I'm taking care of the truck, though...so... Idk.

I use XDP diesel power plus.

It claims to disperse water completely, and it's only $9 a bottle.

    I use Archoil products.

With today’s ultra low sulfur fuel, I believe it’s beneficial to boost the cetane and improve the lubricity.

I run Optilube's Pure Cetane Purelube.

It runs noticeably smoother when running additives.

They claim that the cetane boost improves by 6-15 points depending on base fuel and mix ratios.

I also run their oil frontier additive with Amsoil; my temps run around 175-190F before with Rotella T4, T6, and no additive; it would always sit around 195-203F.

I run the Hot Shots Secret EDT every tank on my 18.

I did get almost 1 mpg better using, but what really sold it was how the fuel filters look when changing.

They used to come out dark black, but they come out a light grey when using EDT.

I also notice that the smoke isn't as noticeable on the higher hp tunes, not like there is much more than a puff when I first get on it anyway.

I work in the fuel industry, and I would recommend adding lubricity of some type. What they add at the loading racks isn't all that great, and it's injected as it's being loaded.

Who knows what is in that from state to state.

    I like Hotshots.

I never tried Archoil actually heard of it.

Yes, you need something to add lubricity to the fuel.

    Great info.

Def agree about boosting cetane and lubricity.

I'm pretty happy with the Hotshot EDT, but I am going to check out Archoil and the Opitlube for sure.

Also interested in the oil additive.

My oil temps usually fall within a few deg of my coolant.

A little higher when hooked up to the fiver.
