    Tow Mirror Running Lights

Hello, I bought the plug kit from Dude’s that is plug and play.

I want to get a scan tool to enable my backlit door lights to work.

Can someone please point me in the right direction to get them on?

    Thanks

I would imagine Alfa OBD will be able to do that.

Hopefully, someone who knows for sure will chime in.

Curious, does your truck already come with the lights in the door?

Trying to understand why you need a scan tool to turn on the door lights?

They make two different versions of this kit.

One for backlit doors and the other for nonlit doors.

Mine doesn’t have the backlit doors, and the way I have to understand it, I have to turn them on for them to work.

For these to work, you must have either a truck equipped with the ambient backlit interior door handles, OR AlfaOBD software to enable the backlit interior door handles

    Re: Tow Mirror Running Lights

I see this thread is a year old, but I just did this to my truck.

I have a 2014 SLT 2500, and the lights on the new mirrors were not enabled in the Body Control Unit (BCU).

I purchased an OBDLink MX+ and AlfaOBD to enable the features on the BCU.

I got the turn signals to work and fixed the towing mirrors when they were flipped up.

By default they was off by 90 degrees.

Even fixed my speedo while I was at it since I have bigger wheels and tires.

Still no luck on the day time running lights.

I could use help if anyone has had this issue and fixed it using AlfaOBD.

I can't seem to find the feature.

    Cheers,
    Mike

Couldn't you run the wire through the door, through the firewall, splice it together into one, and run to an ignition fuse?
